September Updates from the Field

I spent July in Singapore for training and was blessed by the fellow missionaries I met there. Though we are now spread throughout South East Asia, our hearts are connected forever, as is our mission, to see God glorified and lives changed through indigenous biblical church movements throughout Southeast Asia. There were three others who were on their way to Japan with me in Singapore and we had a special time of fellowship, prayer and worship together every day. I also got to reunite with five people I had gone through US OC with there as well so it was a blessed time.

In August I arrived in Sapporo, Hokkaido Japan. I am here for two months of study. I have been blessed by rooming with short-term workers in the guesthouse, helping the experience and adjust to life in Japan for the first time. I also have been truly blessed by my three teachers. One became a Christian as a child, one as a college student and one in their 40’s. Their testimonies are amazing. Maybe one day I can share them with you. My workload and pace has been intense. Most students cover once chapter a week and I am covering 1-2 chapters a day. I have also completed 3 or the 4 courses. I am accomplishing what most people do in 6 months or more in 2. It has been crazy but God has sustained and provided for me.

As for the future, this coming weekend I will be taking a visit to Aomori prefecture to look at apartments and meet the pastor and church members I will be serving and working with come October. I will wrap up my studies on September 30th, move to Aomori on Oct. 1st, and being welcomed at the church on the 2nd. Time was moving slowing but now it is flying by.
